How to create professional looking apps for every device from smart watches to desktops
The demand for business apps is rocketing. While developing and deploying the right business apps can help companies become more efficient and profitable, apps need to look professional on every device, from desktops to smart watches and this is proving a major challenge for the industry.

While some app development tools have accelerated the process of app building, too often developers are forced to use a template or structure that result in apps that just don’t look right on different devices. Some apps end up looking like the Toolset, a far cry from the polished and professionally branded apps they had envisioned.

While Juniper Research forecasts that total revenues from mobile apps are on track to reach $99 billion by 2019, this growth could be hindered by the inability of developers to create professional looking apps that engage customers using different device types.

To address this issue, Bluefinity International has launched Evoke, a new rapid app development platform. This highly flexible solution enables users to develop and deploy high quality, professional business apps on any device in a fraction of the time of traditional methods.

Evoke offers users a single design structure that enables companies to quickly build user interfaces, define and manage data from different databases, and at every step, there is guidance and business logic available to help them.

Malcolm Carroll, Director of Bluefinity said, “The look and feel of using a business app is the most important part of the business model for many companies, but one of the hardest things to get right. With so many devices and different operating systems to contend with, this is a complex problem for many companies.”

“One of the key benefits of Evoke is that it allows users to view how the apps will look on any device in real time as a WYSIWYG rendition, giving an exact representation of how the app will look on the devices. This display dynamically adapts if developers change their design space, surface area or select a different operating system e.g. iOS, Android, Windows, etc.”

The system also has additional viewing modes which allow non adapting visualization, block view and list views to help users of all levels of expertise and experience build business apps with the look and feel they want.

Evoke offers an extensive array of UI widgets and dynamic screen adaptations to support the deployment of apps across all major platforms and devices. All the major devices including the iPad, iPhone, Android and Windows phones and tablets, plus Windows, Linux and Apple desktop are supported, and its single user interface design can be adapted for multiple screen sizes and operating systems ensuring apps are presented as optimum visual displays.

Malcolm Carroll added, “Evoke removes the traditional concerns of developers being forced down a “template” route that doesn’t allow for creativity. Organisations are free to build the apps their customers want. The point and click functionality to select from hundreds of widgets and component options means all companies can now build sophisticated business apps in a fraction of the time and cost of more traditional methods.”

How Evoke works:
Every app screen built using Evoke, is made up of visual segments and developers can have as many or as few segments on each screen/page as they wish. Segments can be embedded within other segments to whatever depth is required and embedded segments can be in columns or rows.

Each segment is structured using an Evoke template which is defined by the developer. These templates can be data grids, single instance data structures, individual data fields, images, buttons, colours or any other visual component, from a single pixel to a full screen image.

Every visual component may be further refined using Evoke’s Widgets which allow, through point and click, the inclusion of images, data entry fields, dropdown menus, pickers, time stamps and hundreds of other options.

Evoke also allows users to create style defaults for apps with certain text colours, size, logos, positioning, etc. These defaults can be saved as a “theme” and used to style current or future apps.

Evoke has a strong and rapidly growing client base with customers in the US, Australasia, UK and Europe. For more information go to: www.bluefinity.com and request a no obligation demonstration of Evoke to see how easy it is for your staff to develop business apps.
