Your business already uses e-business – are you using it to your benefit?
If you use a customer relationship management (CRM) system, a company intranet or a supplier relationship management (SRM) system, odds are you’re in good company with your competitors. Across industries, companies are using these and other e-business systems to optimize their supply chain, connect with customers to provide personalized solutions and connect with colleagues to track all interactions. Could you be using e-business more strategically?

The new contributed book, E-Business and Supply Chain Integration: Strategies and Case Studies from Industry, edited by Dr Ozlem Bak and publishing on 3 February 2018, provides best practice examples of successful cross-industry companies that have implemented e-business practices along with lessons learned from works in progress. Readers will know how to include new and existing e-business platforms and practices into their strategy and reap the benefits when their business runs smoothly and their profits increase.

Chris Bell, Global Sales Director at Morgan McKinley, praised the book and its e-learning chapter, saying, ‘Digital technologies in the professional services industry poses some challenging questions and points to a future where machine learning and AI enable a paradigm shift from mining historic data to a predictive model. [This book]'s insight into this paradigm shift and [its] analysis of how technologies can come together to transform human capital management is a must-read for anyone that is concerned about how they might find a practical road map to face the undoubted challenges that lie ahead. Many organizations' very survival rests on mastering this test’.

About the editor: Dr Ozlem Bak is Senior Lecturer at Huddersfield University, UK. She lectures on courses in operations management, purchasing and supply chain management at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Before entering academia, she worked in the automotive industry for companies such as Daimler Chrysler and Hyundai.
