Getronics appoints CFO to lead global finance operations

Getronics has appointed Fede Barreto as Global Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and member of its Board of Management.  Barreto is the latest in a series of senior management appointments by Chairman and Group CEO Nana Baffour, as he continues to execute his vision of making Getronics the world’s preferred partner for business transformation.

Fede brings a wealth of experience both in maximising the impact of business partnerships and collaboration to improve financial results and in providing the best quality to customers and generating enterprise value. Fede, who will lead Getronics’ entire global finance team, embarks on a mission to accelerate growth while focusing on financial discipline, higher margins and cash management.

“I am thrilled to join a leadership team that is talented and proven, with a clear vision of success in the ICT industry. Getronics has an incredible history. Most importantly, Getronics is poised for continued growth. I’m looking forward to fully understanding the value we bring our customers and to evaluating our investment decisions, bringing that knowledge to bear on defining and executing the group strategy into the future,” said Barreto.

“Fede is a finance leader who achieves success by understanding the business in which he operates and who has developed expertise across the various finance disciplines, in different industries, and in different countries.  Yet again, we have attracted the very best talent to Getronics, which is critical to our growth objectives and our vision to be the best. I’m delighted to welcome Fede and the experience he brings to our top team,” said Nana Baffour, Chairman and Group CEO.

For the six years prior to joining Getronics, Barreto was CFO and EVP at Sony DADC Americas, a division of Sony Corporation, having joined in 2010 as VP Finance.  At Sony, he was the finance leader and a member of the executive team that was responsible for defining and executing the company’s strategy in the Americas region.  He previously spent 15 years in the Pharmaceutical industry of which almost a decade was at Schering-Plough (now Merck) and Warner Lambert (now Pfizer) working in many areas and in different countries.

Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English, Barreto holds an MBA from Rutgers Business School, USA, and a BA in Economics, Philosophy and Financial Management from Ohio Wesleyan University, USA.
