Infinigate makes strategic acquisition of Vuzion creating the first Cybersecurity & Secure Cloud VAD
Infinigate Group, the pan-European value-added distributor (VAD) of cybersecurity solutions today announced the acquisition of cloud solution provider (CSP) Vuzion to create the first VAD combining cybersecurity and cloud services. This unique Secure Cloud value proposition will enable Infinigate and Vuzion resellers and partners to support the SMB sector on the journey to the cloud – enabling them to maximise the value of their cloud investments and accelerate growth.
Vuzion is an innovative Microsoft powerhouse and Europe’s leading independent cloud services provider. It delivers best-of-breed, hand-picked cloud solutions with a core focus on marketing and technical abilities and was the first Microsoft UK provider to cover a full spectrum of offerings across the cloud platform partner ecosystem. Over the past three years Vuzion recorded strong organic year-on-year growth of more than 30% each year and has a rapidly expanding customer base. Vuzion Managing Director, Michael Frisby, a 13-year Microsoft veteran, will be joining Infinigate as SVP Cloud Services and will drive Vuzion growth within Infinigate across EMEA.
Klaus Schlichtherle, CEO of Infinigate Group comments: “Our acquisition of Vuzion is a strategic move that we’ve taken because cybersecurity and cloud are a natural fit. It enables us to ensure a more comprehensive security posture for the end customers especially in the SMB space. Infinigate will be the only VAD where resellers will find the expertise to transition customers to comprehensive secure cloud solutions.
“The acquisition will accelerate digital transformation both for Infinigate and for those we serve and combined with our key recruitment and investments, it enables us to re-invent VAD for a digital world. In the coming quarter we will be investing in the core Vuzion business in the UK and will develop a joint approach across EMEA to secure the cloud and leverage Vuzion expertise and experience,” says Klaus.
Increasingly, cybersecurity start-ups are operating a fully subscription-based model and the acquisition will enable Infinigate to channel Vuzion’s wealth of experience in helping both vendors and partners adapt to this model. Emerging cybersecurity start-ups also view access to the Microsoft channel as a key asset, and Infinigate will now be able to offer best-in-breed solutions for both cybersecurity and cloud.
“We are excited to join Infinigate’s innovative and dynamic team,” said Michael Frisby, Managing Director of Vuzion. “Our shared people-focused approach and common values give us a strong foundation. Joining forces allows us to provide more expertise and services, which helps our mutual partners accelerate their growth and secure their customers’ journey to the cloud.”
“Adding Vuzion’s Microsoft cloud expertise and team to Infinigate is an excellent example of the dedication of both Infinigate and Vuzion to anticipating and meeting the needs of their partners through strategic investment” says Wim Delbeke, Regional Business Leader Microsoft EMEA. “Security is a key priority for Microsoft and we look forward to helping them pursue more opportunities to achieve their strategic objectives and enabling more resellers to keep their customers secure.”
Vuzion will remain operationally independent for the time being and will be laser focused on supporting its partners and helping them to grow.
