Microlise Plays Key Role In Consortium Developing Innovative eBSA Motorcycle

BSA Company Limited, the organisation that is resurrecting the iconic BSA brand, is developing a retro roadster which will combine classic style with the latest innovations in e-mobility.

Microlise has been selected as a member of the design and development consortium in collaboration with Dana TM4, Hypermotive, WMG (University of Warwick) and Vital Auto with Delta Motorsport, RedLine and Ricardo also acting as partners (subcontractors).

Microlise will provide a Smart Gateway device to capture a range of critical vehicle data along with an IoT solution to support BSA and the project partners to understand vehicle performance, usage and health. The solution will also supply information to bike owners to help them to have the best possible ownership experience.

As a dyed-in-the wool bike enthusiast himself, Bob Harbey, Executive Director of Microlise, has welcomed the electric BSA project “Having spent much of my youth and adult life either on the back of a bike, or in the stands cheering on the talented Microlise Creswell Racing team, I am delighted that Microlise is delivering the telematics and IOT solution for this innovative and ground-breaking e-bike project that will combine the best of classic engineering with cutting-edge green technology. The project is expected to create 255 jobs across partner organisations and the project site in Banbury in Oxfordshire.

Speaking about the project, Nadeem Raza, Microlise Chief Executive Officer said: “We are pleased to be working with our consortium partners and deploying some of our innovative telematics’ solutions to support BSA and the biking community while furthering our own e-mobility research and environmental agenda.
