Infor, a leading provider of industry-specific cloud applications, today announced that Albertsons Companies has implemented Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage (M3) at the company’s Norwalk beverage plants and plans to roll out the solution across all its manufacturing plants in the United States. After Albertsons and Safeway merged in 2015 to create the second-largest food and drug retailer in the country, the company needed to replace a legacy system with a cloud-based solution that could be easily implemented across the new enterprise without the need for custom modifications. Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage helps organizations of all sizes meet the complex challenges of managing lead-times, evolving channel-to-market strategy, and meeting ever-changing regulatory requirements.

Specifically, Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage will provide Albertsons Companies a standard solution to support milk, bread and grocery manufacturing plants across the company while also integrating with the technology the company had to support sales, production, finance and inventory operations. Infor Cloudsuite Food & Beverage has already been implemented at a plant in Norwalk, CA with plans to implement the software at 18 more plants in the US producing everything from milk to energy drinks by the end of 2019 with the help of Avaap. The success of the go-live in Norwalk was evident, as the plant was 100 percent operational with CSF&B on day two.

Infor leverages ION MEC as the integration standard to internal solutions providing the interface between the Infor Cloudsuite Food & Beverage application and other Infor applications. Albertsons is also in process of implementing Infor software for product lifecycle management with Optiva. In addition, Albertsons uses Infor Workforce Management Time & Attendance, Lawson Financials and warehouse management system.

“With manufacturing plants across the country producing a variety of products, we needed a solution that would not require customization,” said Rucha Nanavati, Group Vice President, IT at Albertsons Companies. “We appreciate Infor’s partnership and ability to address the complexities of unifying our technology system.”

By using Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage, businesses can effectively manage complex industry challenges, from tank scheduling and country of origin labeling to traceability and recipe management.

All these solutions lay the foundation for Albertsons Companies to take advantage of Infor’s portfolio of modern cloud applications that use the latest science and machine learning and leverage data from Infor’s global commerce network.

“As digital disruption sweeps through the food and beverage industry, it is becoming more and more essential that companies make the most of technology available to them and that the companies providing this technology make it as easy as possible for the customers to implement,” said Mike Edgett, Industry & Solution Strategy Director, Development. “We provided Albertsons Companies with a scalable, standard solution to support not only their production operations but also Sales, Finance and Inventory Operations without the need to customize. CloudSuite Food and beverage offered an innovative solution that not only met all of Albertsons Companies’ requirements without any custom modifications but also ensures that future upgrades can be handled seamlessly.”
