Microlise, one of Europe’s largest telematics companies, has appointed former TomTom Head of Business Development Luke Olsen as its new Director of Sales for Asia Pacific.
The move follows a string of successes in the region for the company, including deployment to one of Australia’s largest supermarket fleets, underlining its commitment to expansion in APAC.
Olsen brings a vast amount of experience to Microlise, having spent more than 15 years working in the telematics and technology space across Australia and New Zealand.
Microlise is one of the pioneers of telematics technology and has been delivering enterprise grade solutions in the UK since 1999. It now counts 13 of the UK’s 15 largest retailers as customers, as well as manufacturers such as MAN, DAF, Tata Motors and JCB.
“I’m excited to be joining a progressive organisation with a solid history of delivering dynamic innovative technology solutions and services that add value and impact the bottom line by helping customers save time and money managing their fleets/assets,” said Olsen.
Delivering telematics, journey management and proof of delivery solutions, Microlise products help fleets to reduce the cost and environmental impact of their fleet operations while delivering the very best customer experience.
“Customers clearly see the value in the solutions and services Microlise offer over and above everyday dot on the map telematics. As well as the fleet and driver performance piece, Microlise’s differentiator is the ability to deliver a full end to end approach for 3PLs and the delivery market. This makes Microlise the go-to partner for customers looking for one provider to manage their supply chain from start to finish,” added Olsen.
Speaking about the appointment, Nadeem Raza, Microlise Chief Executive Officer commented: “Microlise has a clear commitment and investment in growing our presence in the APAC market, including in bringing the right people into the team to support our growing customer base in the region.”
While heading business development for the APAC region at TomTom, Olsen was also responsible for developing key partner ecosystems with leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM), systems integrators and value-added re-sellers to the transport and logistics Space.
“Luke has a proven track record in building high performing sales channels and businesses from start up, having built highly successful channel to market models for two of the largest global players in the market over the last 10 years. We’re very excited to have him on board and looking forward to the contribution he will make to our business expansion plans,” added Raza.
