realme appoints Francis Wong as the youngest-ever CEO of realme Europe

realme, the fastest growing smartphone brand in Europe, appoints Francis Wong (@Francisrealme) the former CMO of realme Europe and India, as CEO of realme Europe, spearheading the overall brand presence and business operations in Europe; he will report directly to Madhav Sheth, President of realme International Business Group, who he succeeds in the position.

New Management from the youth and for the youth

realme was founded in 2018 and entered Europe in 2020; realme has flourished since then as a Top 4 smartphone brand in Europe. As one of the founding members of realme, Francis joined realme since its inception in 2018, captaining the very first realme 1 launch.

Leading the team as CMO of realme India, Francis led community-centred campaigns and youth-driven content marketing strategies; and orchestrated the collaboration with Salman Khan and others as brand ambassador, transitioning realme from a novice brand to a notable brand in India as the favourite choice for young consumers and the number 3 smartphone brand in India.

In 2021, Francis was appointed as CMO of realme Europe, India, Africa and Latin America; he continued to expand new territories for realme, which provided global perspectives. Meanwhile, he served as the Global Lead for the realme GT Series, dedicated to polishing and pushing the premium flagship series to the global market.

And now, championed as CEO of realme Europe, Francis has pioneered a record-breaking year as the company experiences stellar growth and substantial market recognition. realme became the TOP 4 smartphone brand in Europe and the fastest-growing smartphone brand in Europe in 2021 with a 518% growth rate. In Poland, realme is the Top 3 smartphone brand now; while in France, Germany, Italy and Spain, realme maintained its Top 5 position.

“It’s a rewarding journey to witness realme teams grow from scratch. Now we are ready to embark on concentrating and cultivating the European market; with a focus on leap-forward technology and trendsetting designs, we strive to deliver the next level smartphone and AIOT experience and make our brand a real name.”

Young Company breeds Young Management

realme is well-known for its fastest-growing trajectories in numerous markets, which to the greatest extent provide the perfect platform for fast adapters. As smartphones are an ever-changing industry where innovation and disruption are happening on a daily basis; the ability to adapt and the agility to act are required more than anything, and in realme, the vast majority of employees are still in their early 30s, who are sharp in actions and sensitive to trends.

The collaboration by realme GT NEO 3 X Naruto and realme GT NEO 3T X Dragon Ball would best demonstrate how COOL a smartphone company could be if the decision-making process actively involves Millennials and Generation Z.

Francis moves into the role as realme continues to innovate within their product offering, having announced the GT NEO 3 series in Europe – the world’s fastest charging smartphone. A steady pipeline of new, industry-leading technologies and its commitment to delivering 100 million 5G smartphones in the next three years will further aid realme’s growth moving forward.

Stay tuned to the NEO Speed.
